How to Opt Out of Veromi

Veromi is a people-search website that aggregates public records and personal data, making your name, address, phone number, and more available to anyone who searches for you. Unlike most data brokers, Veromi requires a physical letter to process opt-out requests — here's exactly how to do it.

What Is Veromi?

Veromi (veromi.net) is a paid people-search service that pulls data from public records, court filings, property records, and other sources to create detailed profiles on individuals. For a subscription fee, anyone can look up your:

  • Full name, aliases, and maiden names
  • Current and previous addresses (going back decades)
  • Phone numbers
  • Date of birth
  • Relatives and associates
  • Court and criminal records
  • Property ownership records
  • Bankruptcy filings

This information can be used by stalkers, scammers, identity thieves, or simply nosy people to find and target you.

How to Opt Out of Veromi

Mail-Only Opt-Out

Veromi does not offer an online opt-out form. You must send a signed, physical letter via U.S. mail. Unsigned requests and email requests are not accepted.

Step 1: Search for Your Record

Before opting out, visit veromi.net and search for your name to confirm that your information appears in their database. Take a screenshot or print out the records you want removed — you'll need to include these with your letter.

Step 2: Write Your Opt-Out Letter

Your letter must include the following information:

  • Your first name, last name, and middle initial
  • Any aliases or A.K.A.s
  • Your complete current address
  • All previous addresses going back 20 years
  • Your date of birth (month, day, and year)
  • A printout of the specific records you want suppressed
  • Your handwritten signature

Step 3: Mail Your Letter

Send your signed letter to:

Opt-Out/Veromi.net
1821 Q Street
Sacramento, CA 95811

Consider sending it via certified mail with return receipt requested so you have proof that your request was received.

Step 4: Wait for Processing

Veromi states that opt-out requests take at least 7 days to process after they receive your letter. In practice, it may take longer. Check back after two weeks to verify that your information has been removed.

Step 5: Verify Removal

After the processing period, search for yourself on veromi.net again to confirm your records have been suppressed. If your information still appears, you may need to contact them again or send a follow-up letter.

What to Include in Your Letter

Here's a simple template: "I am writing to request that all personal records associated with my name be suppressed from the Veromi.net database. My information is as follows: [include all required details]. I have attached printouts of the records I want removed. Please confirm removal to [your address]. Sincerely, [your signature]."

Why Veromi's Opt-Out Process Is Difficult

Veromi's mail-only opt-out requirement is unusually burdensome compared to most data brokers. Here's why this matters:

  • No online option — most modern data brokers accept email or web form requests
  • 20 years of addresses — requiring two decades of address history is excessive and may be difficult to recall
  • Signature requirement — while this ostensibly prevents unauthorized removals, it adds friction
  • No confirmation system — there's no automated way to track your request status

These barriers discourage many people from following through, which means your data stays in their system longer.

What Happens After You Opt Out

When Veromi processes your opt-out, they suppress your records from appearing in search results on their site. However, keep in mind:

  • Suppression may not be permanent — your data could reappear if Veromi re-acquires it from public records
  • Other people-search sites likely have the same information — opting out of Veromi alone won't remove you from the internet
  • Cached versions of your data may still appear in search engine results temporarily

Remove Yourself From Other Data Brokers Too

Veromi is just one of hundreds of data brokers that may have your personal information. To truly protect your privacy, you need to opt out of all of them — a process that can take dozens of hours if done manually.

PrivacyOn automates this entire process. We monitor over 100 data broker and people-search sites, submit removal requests on your behalf, and continuously re-check to make sure your data stays removed. Instead of writing letters, printing records, and tracking dozens of opt-outs yourself, PrivacyOn handles everything — starting at just $8.33 per month.
