How to Opt Out of ZabaSearch

ZabaSearch is a free people search engine that displays names, addresses, phone numbers, and other personal details pulled from public records. Powered by Intelius (owned by PeopleConnect), ZabaSearch makes your information easily accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

What Information Does ZabaSearch Display?

ZabaSearch's free results can include:

  • Full name
  • Current and past addresses (including full street addresses)
  • Phone numbers — including unlisted numbers
  • Birth month and year
  • Associated people — relatives, roommates, and past co-residents
  • Satellite and aerial photos of your home

Through Intelius (their paid partner), additional data like criminal records, bankruptcies, and comprehensive background reports may also be available. ZabaSearch sources its data from public phone books, property transaction records, voter registration rolls, business directories, court records, and sweepstakes participation data.

How to Remove Your Information From ZabaSearch

ZabaSearch does not have its own opt-out form. Instead, all removal requests go through the PeopleConnect Suppression Center, which handles opt-outs for ZabaSearch, Intelius, and several other affiliated sites. The process is free and takes about 10 minutes.

  1. Go to the Suppression Center:

Navigate to the PeopleConnect suppression portal. You can also find this link by scrolling to the bottom of zabasearch.com and clicking "Suppress My Data."

  2. Enter your email address:

Provide an email, check the agreement box, and click "Continue."

  3. Verify your email:

Check your inbox for an email from PeopleConnect with the subject "Confirm your email address." Click the "VERIFY EMAIL" button. You must do this within 15 minutes or the link expires.

  4. Enter your date of birth:

Submit your date of birth, agree to the verification statement, and click "Continue."

  5. Enter your legal name:

Provide your first, middle, and last name. Confirm it is your legal name and click "Continue."

  6. Select your record:

Browse the results and select the record that matches your information.

  7. Verify your identity:

Choose a phone number or email address associated with the record, then click "Request Verification Code." Enter the code you receive.

  8. Suppress your data:

In the "Desired Behavior" section, select "Suppressed" and click "Save."

Processing Time

Removal typically takes 5–7 business days after your request is submitted, though some users report it happening within 24–72 hours.

One Opt-Out Covers Multiple Sites

The good news: suppressing your data through the PeopleConnect Suppression Center also removes your information from several other affiliated sites, including:

  • Intelius
  • TruthFinder
  • Instant Checkmate
  • US Search
  • Classmates.com
  • AnyWho
  • Addresses.com
  • PublicRecords.com
  • PeopleFinder

This makes it one of the more efficient opt-out processes in the data broker world.

Important Tips and Gotchas

  • Use a disposable email. Data brokers may add the email you provide during opt-out to marketing lists. Use a throwaway email address instead of your primary one.
  • The verification link expires in 15 minutes. Have your email inbox open and ready before you start the process.
  • Check for multiple listings. You may appear under name variations, different addresses, or different states. Each listing may need a separate suppression request.
  • Contact support if needed. If your listing persists after 7 business days, reach out to privacy@peopleconnect.us or call (888) 245-1655 (Mon–Fri, 7 AM – 4 PM PST).

Warning: Your Data May Reappear

ZabaSearch and PeopleConnect continuously purchase and scrape new public records. When new data comes in that isn't matched to your suppression profile, your listing can be re-created. You'll need to check back periodically and re-submit if necessary.

Protect Yourself Across All Data Brokers

While the PeopleConnect opt-out covers a handful of related sites, there are still over 100 other data brokers that may be publishing your personal information. Opting out of each one individually is time-consuming, and keeping your data removed requires ongoing vigilance.

PrivacyOn handles this for you — automatically submitting opt-out requests across 100+ data broker sites and continuously monitoring for re-listings. Instead of spending hours navigating suppression portals, you can let PrivacyOn keep your personal information private on an ongoing basis.
